Week(s) in Review- September 7th- 19th

September 7th- 19th

-We had a fun little family labor day- made me wish Harold was here, but glad I have my parents! We took Harrison on a walk and too the park all together- it was fun! Grandma even went down the slide- TWICE! =) We went home and had a great dinner of grilled hot dogs, homemade potato salad, & cucumbers & red onions marinated in oil, vinegar & dijon mustard. Yum, yum!

GRRR... Bad to the bone!

Mischievous little man...

Practicing playing with the football for Daddy's return! =)

Blocks are yummy!

Toy deprived? Oh man...

Babies love their boxes...

This is why I need to wear a bib ALL THE TIME!

Happy baby boy!

This week we celebrated Auntie Tori's 24th birthday! We walked around downtown and shopped, then I dropped HP off for an adult dinner of sushi (which I couldn't have, boo.) at Arrowwood.

Rad like Dad

Harrison got a new Harley from his great-aunt Arlene! He loves it, although Mommy already let him fall once... uh oh.

-Harrison added cottage cheese & yogurt. His vote? Yogurt- thumbs up. Cottage cheese? BIG thumbs down. We'll keep trying though. =)

-The little guy is officially mobile- although, not forward. =) He can "crawl" backwards to get virtually anywhere, and rotate around 360 degrees. He's starting to get up on all fours & rock a little bit as well. He'll be crawling (forward) in no time!

-We have 2 more weeks in MN, then we're off to home in TX! It's a little bittersweet, but I know the second I see Harold I'm going to be all happy!

Week(s) in Review- August 23rd- September 6th

August 23rd- September 6th

Been a little too busy to post lately- I also lost my camera charger for a few days which was a TRAGEDY, especially since I sent my fujifilm camera to Harold in Afghanistan. Luckily it was recovered a few days later. =)

Harrison & I went to Brainerd, MN to visit one of my best high school girls Kristen (check out her great food blog!) We had a ton of fun!

On Friday Harrison had a playdate with a friend, Odin! They had fun. Harrison really hasn't spent enough time with other kids- he was pretty fascinated. It's always good to hang out with people who have kids! (don't do that much here in MN)

We went out for dinner friday night @ Maddens (yummy!) then came home to relax. Harrison decided to take control of the remote, and changed the channel to the Redskins game. Hubby is OBSESSED and I thought it was funny- a sign for Daddy! I told him to come home soon because his little HP was ready for some football!

Saturday we went shopping in Nisswa (really touristy area) all day- great area.

My little Fox in Socks!

He's discovered the Xylophone (see video in post below) and is literally obsessed. I've never seen him be so interested in one single toy! One day I tried to give him a bottle, but he whined and squirmed until I sat him back by his precious xylophone. I think I've got a little musician on my hands! =)

Goof!

- Harrison had a saltine cracker for the first time- we went to Raaper's for my brother's birthday (two for one drinks, and have price appetizers. GREAT deal. Too bad no drinks for me! hehe) He really enjoyed it! He was thirsty the morning after though-

-Harold called & said he officially has less than 60 days!! YAY!!!!! He was thinking it was going to be the first week in November, but he things he'll be leaving the first or second week in October!! I'm thrilled. Harrison, my parents and I are leaving for Texas October 3rd, so excited! It's going to be sad to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa though!

-We took HP to church on Sunday for the first time in awhile (guess the summer made us too lazy!) He was SO good. Honestly, I couldn't believe it. Just sat on my lap and played with some paper and other toys. Perfect angel!

- The weather has been great here in MN! We've been trying to get outside more and hang out in the shade & on our swing. I am really starting to get my fall allergies though, and am not taking anything due to being pregnant. That coupled with my general lack of energy from pregnancy, it's been hard for me to even get our walks for the day in.

Saturday Week in Review

August 9th-15th

Harrison started using a "bath seat". He was still lying down on a mat before. He got his first taste of water being dumped over his head! =) A lady I used to nanny for just started dumping water from the very begininning, and they got used to it and never complained, so that's the route I'm taking. He was (obviously) shocked but smiled afterwords.

What a cheeseball!

Good Morning HP! Nice bedhead. =) (he got his first real diaper rash last week, so we're still using the desitin... THANK GOD for desitin!)

What Mom??

Getting ready for the beach!!

Lake Latoka, Alexandria, MN
August 14th, 2009

He never tried to put the rocks in his mouth- I was so surprised! He loved the water, splashing, and most of all watching other kids! We (my mom & I) had so much fun!

Some swing fun! Waiting for Grandpa to finish grilling some burgers

THAT face!

Pretty smile

Today is our 1 year anniversary! I'm (of course) bummed that Harold is 234234 miles away, but next year when I'm NOT PREGNANT (cross your fingers) we will really celebrate. =) Happy Anniversary my love!

-On Wednesday night we went to my cousin Katie's baby shower. (forgot my camera) We had a lot of fun, and of course, Harrison was a hit. Baby showers are always fun! There really wasn't anyone who had little kids, so I got made fun of because I knew so much about the "new fangled" baby gear. =)

-Harrison has (finally) started rolling over like crazy. Still no scooting or much moving around on the tummy. It will still be awhile before he crawls. =)

-Harrison took his weekly Wal-Mart trip with Grandpa today- they are such buds!

Living in MN

Harold has officially left for Afghanistan- It's actually a lot harder than I even expected. He's still been traveling there and really hasn't gotten many chances to even email, so I hope once everything settles down there and I can talk to him a bit more I will feel better. He was supposed to be in Bagrum, but they've moved him to Kabul, the capital. He's says the city is very poor.

Here at the Harris' we are doing well. Harrison isn't taking the greatest naps, it's bringing back memories of Kaylen and his short little naps. He's plenty happy when he's awake though. Still loves playing with his gym and gazing at himself in the mirror- he thinks he's pretty hot stuff. He's purposefully grabbing at toys, burp rags being some of his favorite. He's getting ready to roll from his back to his front. He gets so much exercise attempting!

It's been a little too cold for walks and playing outside- I look at the weather in Texas everyday and sigh. I'm not sure if I could ever live in MN again.

There really isn't much else to report. I'm really enjoying the downtime. The summer weekends are filling up fast- we'll be busy! Hope everyone is well.

Last Night

We leave Thursday for our big trip to KS & MN! It's 1 AM and I can't sleep... I'm a little sad because this is the last night we have here at home together. Harold is going to Tennessee tomorrow to surprise a friend and go to his change of command ceremony. Then Thursday it's road trip time! We bought a tablet DVD player (the screen lifts up to put the dvd in) so we can rig it so Harrison can see it in his rear facing car seat. He really dislikes the car- we went out to dinner tonight and he cried the whole way there and home. Hopefully a little "Baby Einstein" will do the trick.

The whole thing is so bittersweet- I'm overjoyed to be getting back to family and friends in MN, but sad about being away from HP for so long. I'm sure it will go by fast, I'll be busy. But the first few weeks will be hard!

Harrison is almost three months old- he coo's A LOT (although really tough to get on camera) and smiles constantly. (well, if he's not hungry or tired that is) Still "going to the gym" as Harold says to kick and squirm like a maniac. He is not a cuddler- he refuses to lay on your chest. While it's a little sad, probably a good thing for the long run. He's not a "hold me" baby. I feel so blessed to have everything in my life the way it is right now. My husband and baby are perfect =)

Can't wait to see a lot of you soon!!
